Renovating a charming cottage in Weedon, Buckinghamshire, presented a unique opportunity to blend traditional elements with contemporary design. The project, conducted in collaboration with a local interior designer, aimed to restore and transform the cottage while respecting its conservation area status. The goal was to create a stunning, open-plan, contemporary country cottage.

To achieve the desired open-plan living space, extensive structural alterations were undertaken.

Internal walls were removed to create a more spacious and cohesive living area. The kitchen was relocated to the rear of the property, offering picturesque views of the garden and enhancing the flow of the living space.

A dry pantry was constructed to accommodate an American-style fridge freezer and provide ample storage for dry goods.

The project featured innovative carpentry and bespoke lighting to enhance the cottage’s aesthetic and functionality. Tailored carpentry solutions were implemented throughout the cottage, adding both character and practicality.

Custom lighting fixtures were designed and installed to complement the new open-plan layout and highlight key architectural features.

High-quality materials were chosen for the flooring and decoration to enhance the cottage’s appeal. Durable and elegant Italian stone flooring was installed in key areas, adding a touch of luxury. Beautiful engineered oak flooring was laid in living areas to provide warmth and a traditional feel.

A new kitchen, tailored to the owner’s needs, was installed, featuring modern appliances and finishes that blend seamlessly with the cottage’s aesthetic.
