When this young family purchased what they described as “the smallest house in the best street,” they had grand visions for their forever home. They dreamed of transforming their modest property into a spacious, modern sanctuary fit for family life and entertaining. Our team embraced their aspirations, and through meticulous planning and execution, we achieved a breathtaking transformation.
The project centred around a full-width, single-storey rear extension that effectively doubled the footprint of their home. By opening the entire back of the property, we replaced the previously cramped, dark, and dated kitchen and living room with a spectacular, open-plan kitchen, dining room, and living area.
The moment you step through the front door, the internal crittle style doors draw your eyes toward the new, expansive space.
Central to this renovation is the kitchen, which blends functionality with style. It includes a bespoke pantry and larder, built-in full-size fridge and freezers, and ample storage solutions for both food and children’s toys and crafts. The massive island, purposefully free of a sink or hob, serves as a versatile area for everyday meals, entertaining guests, art and craft space for the young children or workspace for the busy adults.
The deep, dark blue cabinetry contrasts strikingly with the white marble worktops, creating a visually stunning and practical workspace
One of the most dramatic features of this renovation is the inclusion of bifold doors that span three-quarters of the rear of the property. These doors open out onto the family garden, blending indoor and outdoor living spaces and flooding the interior with natural light.
What was once the smallest house on the best street has been transformed into a dream home. The vision of a modern, spacious, and functional family home has been realized, providing this young family with a beautiful and practical living space that they can enjoy for years to come.
